Họ cùng nhau hát, chia sẻ thịt lợn nướng và những thùng bia như chưa từng là kẻ thù. Khi tiếng súng vẫn vang lên ở những chiến trường khác, tại nơi đây, hơn 100.000 người lính đã có những giây phút quý giá được thoát ra khỏi sự điên rồ của chiến tranh dù chỉ là trong chốc lát.

During WWI, many of the British, French and German soldiers lived, (1)______ and died in trenches that snaked thousands of miles through the countryside. These trenches were (2)______, dark places.
