Thousands of supporters gathered at Trump Tower in New York City for the big announcement... Ivanka Trump introducing the man of the hour.
"It is my pleasure to introduce to you today a man who I have loved and respected my entire life, my father Donald J. Trump."
Joined by his wife and family, real estate mogul and TV personality Donald Trump made it official on Tuesday.
He says he's running for the White House.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I am officially running for president of the United States and we are going to make our country great again."
If elected, Trump said he would use his expertise as a businessman to improve the economy and create more jobs.
"I will be the greatest jobs president that God ever created."
Trump went on to attack President Obama, saying he's a failed leader who rolled out a healthcare plan that doesn't work.
"We have a disaster called the big lie, Obamacare."
"Sadly, our American Dream is dead, but if I get elected president I will bring it back bigger and better and stronger than ever before and we will make America great again."
Trump joins a crowded field of Republicans vying for the White House, the latest being former Florida Governor Jeb Bush who launched his candidacy on Monday.
