They're hot and they're hungry. With temperatures hovering around 100 degrees Fahrenheit, can you blame them?
But zookeepers at Jerusalem's Biblical Zoo are doing their best to keep animals cool.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) ZOOKEEPER DENNIS SMITH SAYING:
"...We can open the doors because it's much cooler in the rooms, or we can make them like ice cream or Arctic (lollies) with all frozen stuff, with fruits, with vegetables and we throw it into the water and they seem to be very happy and they feel probably cooler so they enjoy this thing".
In Australia... the health of koalas are being assessed.
The state government is reportedly worried these koalas may be undernourished, because the colony at Cape Otway has become overcrowded.
Here's when crowds can be a positive thing...
These little blue penguins were flown from Sydney to New York's Bronx Zoo as part of a breeding program... and staff say the small animals are adapting well to their new digs.
This wrinkled baby is delighting crowds in San Diego.
Lucky for them... Devi's mother has been protecting her from public stares since she was born just eight weeks ago.
Staying above the water, hundreds of cattle in Texas are being saved from historic flooding.
They're witnessing the month's record rainfall -- but lucky to have such dedicated ranchers.
